Building the Infrastructure for Reparative Justice
Black American Equity Institute is a nonprofit social enterprise rooted in reparative justice and social & economic equity. We partner with the State of California, LA County, and cities across California to build the policy, data, and civic infrastructure that communities of color need to thrive. Our services are centered around reparative justice and equity strategies, ensuring that every service we deliver reinvests directly into our mission of equity and power-building.
Who We Are
Black American Equity Institute exists to confront the policies and systems that have produced persistent racial and economic inequities for American Freedmen communities. We partner with residents, community organizations, and public institutions to design and advance reparative policies that repair harm, redistribute resources, and build long‑term prosperity across California.
